Produced around 1941 this is an Elgin Duo-dial "5509 Doctors watch". In a gold filled case measuring 20mm x 44mm and in very nice condition overall.  Dial is the rare black with silver sub-seconds with  nice set of original factory hands. Movement is offset in case which places the winding crown top of center...only company I'm aware that used that innovation. Very hard to find and completely original. movement is hand wound with seventeen jewels, just serviced and running great.   Comes with brand new alligator  strap ...ready to go!

Probably in the top 3 or four rarest Illinois ever made. These DePollier cased divers were produced in 1919 and were first attempt at a waterproof military watch. Crown taper locks into flanges on side of case putting tension on it's cork gaskets. Dial is original metal "Off Duty" in nice original condition..some patina across it. Case is large for its time (1919) measuring 37.5mm x 42.3 mm overall . Case is brass with a heavy black finish has screw back and screw bezel with original glass crystal. These are extremely rare and have seen more in books than anywhere else! This one is in very high condition and everything including the crown is operating properly. This is only the second one of these 've every owned and it's complete and ready to go!!
